If you already registered and need to insert your serial number then go to your contact list then look under the "help" menu and choose "activate this version" then insert the serial number to upgrade. Why can't I sign on to Camfrog?Your firewall software is probably blocking Camfrog from accessing the Internet. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall Camfrog. Now go to your firewall software and remove Camfrog from the allowed applications list. Reinstall Camfrog and when your firewall asks you if it may access the Internet press "Yes". Unfortunately some firewall software does not work correctly so when you upgrade to a new version of Camfrog from 3.0 to 3.X the firewall software doesn't realize this is the same program, so you must delete it and re-add it to the list. If you still cannot logon to Camfrog and you have no firewall software installed then there is probably a temporary network problem with your service provider, or a temporary problem with our server. I ordered Camfrog Pro but my code never arrived.Please visit our "order status" page. Will my Windows serial number work with the Mac version of Camfrog Pro and vice versa?Yes. Just go to the "help" menu for either product and follow the same instructions. Someone is violating the Camfrog Terms of Service or doing something inappropriate. How can I report them?Go to their profile and click "report inappropriate content". Please give specific details of what happened and what room it happened in. If there is an emergency you should contact your local law enforcement agency. I am still having multimedia problems with Camfrog Windows client 3.91 or later (video appears upside down, freezes, crashes, camera is not detected, etc...).Please run the latest Camfrog with the debug command line parameter. To do so follow these steps:
1. Open the folder where Camfrog is installed on your PC. Default path to it is C:\Program Files\Camfrog\Camfrog Video Chat.
Press OK to run Camfrog in debug mode. Please reproduce all the multimedia problems you have. After that close the Camfrog application or in case of freeze just kill Camfrog Video Chat.exe process in the process list. Check if you have Nero Burning ROM installed.Sometimes an application called Ahead Nero Burning ROM causes Camfrog to crash for some unknown reason. If you have Nero installed, try to uninstall it to see if it solves your problem. If Nero is causing you to crash then please contact the Camfrog support team for instructions on how to make both applications work together normally. How can I make a new nickname?Go to the "file" menu and choose "sign out" then click "create a new nickname". What is Karma on Camfrog?Karma is a system that helps stop SPIM (instant message spam). If you receive an inappropriate message
or IM spam click the sad Can I give my Pro code to my friend?No. If your code is used simultaneously by more than one user it may become deactivated. My Pro code stopped working because I gave it to my friend, can you give me a new one?Camfrog is a private company with limited resources. When you share your code with other people it does financial damage to Camfrog and makes it difficult for us to add new services and products. Sharing your pro code is not only illegal software piracy but it's also immoral. If you share your code you will need to buy a new one. Someone on Camfrog said they were the Camfrog admin and they wanted me to give them my: credit card, pro code, photo, etc...Camfrog admins will not ever ask you for these things or communicate with you via IM. Camfrog should only be dealt with via the email address on our contact page. Why won't your employees in the Camfrog-hosted rooms help me?The operators in the Camfrog Hosted rooms are volunteers and they are not associated with Camfrog.com in any way. If you need help with Camfrog please email us. Is it OK to buy a Pro code from someone outside of Camfrog.com?Please ask the person you are buying from to show proof they are a verified Camfrog reseller. If you buy a code from someone unrelated to Camfrog and the code has problems we will be unable to assist you. How can I change my sex from male to female?You can't. You will need to go to file/signout and create a new nickname with the correct sex. Why can't I connect to a certain room? I can connect to all other rooms.Your Norton antivirus/firewall software may have blocked a room because it didn't work correctly. Try going to the blocked IP addresses list to unblock the IP. Nvidia Network Access Manager may cause you to be unable to use Camfrog.
Sometimes an application called Nvidia Network Access Manager causes Camfrog to fail to connect
multimedia streams to the room. If you have Nvidia Network Access Manager installed, try to
uninstall it to see if it solves your problem. What is the password to lock/unlock the parental controls?The password to lock/unlock the parental controls is your Windows logon password. Always keep this password private. How can I access 18+ rooms?In the internal video chat room list make sure the family filter is turned off by clicking the "on" hyperlink next to where it says "family filter is on". My password was stolen can you give me my nickname back?If your nickname is stolen please register a new one. To avoid having your nickname stolen pick a password with letters and numbers and capital and lower case letters. Here is an example secure password: he1100THERE Do not use this password of course, please make your own. Please read our security tips page. When I try to view my own video my webcam is not detected.Try these things:
1. Are you using another videoconferencing application at the same time that is controlling your webcam? Please quit that application.
How come I can only see one person at a time in the video chat room or I can't see anyone at all?
You must register to turn on this feature.
1. Do you have Norton Firewall? Try disabling it, or add Camfrog to the list of programs it allows.
How can I see who is watching me?
The eyes in their icon will be open like this icon: How can I add text to my video window?Register and then right click your local video window and choose "text over video settings". I cannot sign on to Camfrog, how can I solve this?If you use Norton Security or Norton Firewall then add Camfrog to the allow list. If you upgraded to a new version sometimes Norton can be confused. Remove Camfrog from the "allow" list then try to sign on again and then say it is OK when Camfrog requests Internet access. If you still can't sign on go to your "help" menu in your contact list and try deactivating Camfrog Pro then try again. Perhaps the Pro serial number you are using was deactivated for some reason. If you still can't sign on after trying all these things then try rebooting your computer. It could be a temporary network problem with your service provider. Norton has alerted me of Trojans on Camfrog, what can I do?Norton Antivirus sometimes incorrectly detects normal Camfrog video streaming behavior as a Trojan. If you go into your settings you can disable worm detection, or just ignore these warnings because they are inaccurate. Do I need to have a webcam to use Camfrog?No. You don't have to have a webcam to see people in video chat rooms, or in 1-on-1 connections, but it is unlikely anyone will want to talk to someone without a webcam. Webcams are now quite affordable and some can be found for around $20. You can also get a microphone for around $5. A microphone is not required for Camfrog either. How can I change my sex or birthday?It is not possible to do this. You can register a new nickname by going to your contact list then file/signout. Next click "register a new nickname". How can I make a new nickname?Go to your contact list then file/signout and then click "register a nickname". I lost my Camfrog Pro Serial.Visit the lost code page and fill it out to request a new one. I forgot my password. How can I retrieve it?Visit our "forgot password" page or look under the "help" menu in the main Camfrog application menu. How can I change my password?Look under the "actions" menu in the main Camfrog application window. How can I change or delete my profile?Go to the contact list then click "settings" then choose "profile". You can then delete out all of your information. Click "photo" to change your profile photo. If you don't logon for 90 days your nickname will be deleted. Camfrog will not install on my computer.Camfrog requires either Windows 2000, Windows 2003 server, Windows XP, Mac OS X, or Windows Vista. Camfrog will not run on Windows 95, 98, or ME. Everyone I look at has slow video and people have trouble seeing me too.Camfrog works best with a DSL/Cable broadband Internet connection. Broadband users get close to TV quality. If you are on a slow modem connection you might have trouble seeing high-quality fast video. Unfortunately only so much video and audio data can be sent through a telephone line, but we have optimized Camfrog where it works with modem and broadband users. Does it cost me per minute to video and audio chat with Camfrog?No. Camfrog uses the Internet to send audio and video over your existing Internet connection. Does Camfrog have spyware or adware that makes me have popup and tracks my movements on the Internet?No. Camfrog is against all forms of spyware and adware. Camfrog does have an advertisement in its main window but it is not a popup. Camfrog Pro has no advertisements. You can upgrade by logging in to your account and choosing "Get Camfrog Pro." Can I use Camfrog as a remote video monitoring system?Yes. Upgrade to Camfrog Pro then check the settings. You can then use a free Camfrog nickname from a remote location and connect to your Camfrog Pro client at home and make a 1-on-1 connection, then view and hear what is going on at your home computer. Does Camfrog work with Apple computers?Camfrog offers a version of Camfrog for Mac OS X on our downloads page. A person in the video chat room is being annoying. How can I ignore him?Right click on the name of the annoying user then choose "ignore" to ignore him. A person is harassing me through instant messages.Click the "Block" button in the IM window and they can not contact you again through that nickname.Click the sad face next to where it says "karma" to give them bad karma. If they get negative karma they can't IM anyone for 15 minutes. I found a profile with an inappropriate photo. How can I report it?Please report it to us so we can delete that account. Can I call a telephone with Camfrog?No. Can I use Camfrog with AOL?Yes. We have tested Camfrog with AOL and it works great. How can I be sure I have the latest version of Camfrog?Under the "help" menu in the main application window (with your contact list) be sure "Check client version at logon" has a check by it. You will then be alerted when a new Camfrog version is available to download. My video window is backwards or upside down. How can I fix it?Go under the "Actions" menu in the main application menu then choose "Settings". Now click on "Video" and you can flip your video around. If your video is upside down sometimes and easy fix is to flip your webcam upside down. My computer is acting slow and Camfrog is behaving strangely. How can I fix it?Right click on Camfrog in the bottom right notification area and choose "exit". Reboot your computer then start Camfrog again. I'd like Camfrog to always be running on my computer, is there a way to do this?Yes. Go under your "Settings" under the "Actions" menu and check the "Run Camfrog at startup" box. Why can't anyone join my Camfrog video chat room?Your Camfrog server must be open to the Internet and it can't be behind a router otherwise users can't access it. You can get your own Windows 2003 server for under $100 per month from The Planet. You can disable your XP firewall easily. I need a dedicated video chat room for my website. Where should I host it and how much does it cost? Is the bandwidth expensive?You can get a dedicated Windows 2003 server at The Planet for $99.00 per month. This server includes 700GB of bandwidth. It is unlikely you could ever use that much bandwidth in one month with Camfrog Server. You can open the following ports to make Camfrog Server work behind a firewall/NAT. How much bandwidth does Camfrog Server use exactly?To estimate this multiply 30720 bytes/sec * count of video streams = maximum value, usually traffic keeps in 1/2 of this value. In peaks one video stream can use up to 51200 bytes/sec if the user continues to move the camera around so the picture changes constantly. How can I delete the history of what rooms I have joined in Camfrog?Go to settings by clicking "settings" in your contact list, then click "privacy and safety" then click "clear history". How can I delete nicknames that I don't use anymore from my Camfrog client?Select a nickname from the drop down list and press CTRL - DEL buttons. Is there any recommendations for improving the performance of Camfrog Server for Linux?

Increase the transmit queue on the interface where Camfrog Server is listening. E.g. /sbin/ifconfig eth0 txqueuelen 3000 (It is recommended to add this line to /etc/rc.d/rc.local, so this setting remains after a system reboot).
